EES in action — community gathering, North Minneapolis
I had the privilege of watching Don Gwedo and EES in action on July 25, 2025. Don Gwedo founded EES — Encouragement Empower Support — because he saw a problem in his community in North Minneapolis.
EES has as its primary objective empowering and supporting marginalized communities, with a specific aim of providing resources for homeless individuals, youth, and the elderly. Having seen the devastating effects of homelessness firsthand, Don took it upon himself to make a difference.
Initially, as a solo act, he started to feed and clothe the homeless using the resources that were available to him. He hopes that others in his community develop a similar passion and commitment for helping those in need.

"Even if you're not in position to help everybody, you can still start off with just one person."
— Don Gwedo, Founder of EES
Beyond the outreach events, EES builds community through fellowship — sharing meals, sharing stories, and sharing the belief that every person deserves dignity and support. This is the spirit of Matthew 25 lived out in North Minneapolis.

"Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me."
— Matthew 25:40
Lifting spirits and restoring hope in those who feel forgotten or overlooked.
Equipping individuals with the tools, resources, and confidence to rebuild their lives.
Providing practical, tangible help — food, clothing, and community — to those in need.
Don started alone. Now EES is a movement. Your act of love — however small — can be the seed that grows into something extraordinary.
